Location
Santa Eulalia del Río - Santa Eulalia
Santa Eulalia is situated on the South-East
side of the island. It is a pleasant town with a good amount of restaurants,
shops and bar cafes. There is a long beach with a promenade that starts from
the river mouth to the very populous harbour, which gives this town a great
atmosphere. There are also various points where you can enjoy water sports
activities. The local church is from the 16th century and
it is known as the catholic church from Puig de Missa. This church gives us a view
of the whole town and beach. In the centre of the town you can find the
city council, known as the Ayuntamiento de Santa Eulalia, which has a fountain
with different colorful lights. Next to it you will find a street plenty of
restaurants from different nationalities, this street is called La Calle de los
Restaurantes, where you can taste a wide variety of food in the national and
international restaurants. If you look down to the city council you will
find Las Ramblas, the promenade, also known as the Passage S Alamera. The
promenade has been updated the last 3 years and now it has modern streetlights
all down the boulevard with modern art sculpture next to it. But, the beach with its turquoise blue water
is also well worth a visit, especially in the summer!. From the seaside promenade in Santa Eulalia a
nice coastal path takes you along the shoreline northeast to the town of Es
Canar. It is a 6km walk , otherwise regular buses from Santa Eulalia take you ,
and there is also a ferry system to Cala Pada and Es Canar. If you do decide to
take this walk you would go past delicious beaches such as Cala Pada, Cala
Martina, where there is a great all year round fish restaurant, and a great
water sports area, scuba diving, sailing, windsurfing and stand up paddle
boarding, therefore providing adequate entertainment for all the family
members..then the beach of Sargamassa and eventually you arrive in Es
Canar. |
